Rose Hines, 81, of What Cheer, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2022 at the Serenity House in Oskaloosa, Iowa.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 12, beginning at 3:00 pm at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in What Cheer, Iowa.    Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1:00 pm until service time.  Burial will be held later in the Sixteen Cemetery near Thornburg.  Memorials may be directed to the family.

Rose Mae Hines was born on July 3, 1940 to Lanis and Nancy Penagras Tadlock in Arkansas.  She was one of eight siblings.  Rose was united in marriage to Ervin Hines on December 14, 1969 in Montezuma, Iowa.  She was a homemaker and was the mother of four children:  Chester, Tammy, Mary and Donna.  Rose was very devoted to her church and worked for the Hilltop Christian Academy as well as the Christian School Daycare.  She attended Hilltop Chapel and also spent time caring for her neighbors.  Rose enjoyed crosswords, jigsaw puzzles, gospel music, socializing, church potlucks, being outside and her daily walks to the post office visiting with many people along the way.  She loved her family, loved Jesus, was honest and trustworthy, and could always see the best in everyone.  Rose was always positive, happy, and never let life get her down.  She helped everyone in any way she could, was compassionate, and always gave hugs.

Rose is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ervin Hines; her daughter, Tammy Hines; her brother-in-law, Dan Lemley, and her sister-in-law, Bonnie Tadlock.

Rose is survived by her children, Chester Hines, Mary (Kelly) Holliman, and Donna Hines; her grandchildren, Adison Bollman and Charisa Bollman; a special niece, Cindy Cavin; her brothers, Raymond Tadlock, Jerry Tadlock, and Lonnie (Ruby) Tadlock; sisters, Pat (Ed) Fisher, Hazel Tadlock, Linda (Frank) Finnie, and Edna Lemley; as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends.
