Rosetta Kitzman, 86 of What Cheer, died Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Northern Mahaska Special Care in Oskaloosa. A celebration of life with the family will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at the Holland-Coble Funeral in What Cheer. Inurnment will be held privately. Rosetta Mae Kitzman was born on March 30, 1937, in Dallas City, Illinois the daughter of Herbert and Minnie Williams Wheatley. In April of 1959 she married Martin Franklin Lebeck and to this union came three sons: Carl, Wayne and Ray. Then in 1984 she moved to What Cheer and was later united in marriage to Vernon Kitzman. Rosetta worked in several nursing homes and restaurants during her time in Illinois. After relocating to Iowa, she worked as a CNA at the Manor House Care Center in Sigourney for twenty years before eventually retiring. Rosetta enjoyed needle work, flowers and her cat, Prince.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Martin Lebeck and Vernon Kitzman; three brothers, Clyde, Robert and David Wheatley; and two sisters, Joan Thomas and Norma Shirts.

Rosetta is survived by her three sons, Carl (Cheryl) Lebeck, Wayne (Toni) Lebeck, and Ray Lebeck; a brother, Gene (Sharon) Wheatley; and a sister, Virginia (Michael) Palmer. She also leaves behind six grandchildren; seven great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
