Roy Snook, 75 of Tipton passed away on Monday, April 13, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Graveside services will begin at 2:00 pm Thursday, April 16, 2026 at the Jackson Township Cemetery, Montezuma, Iowa.  A luncheon will follow the service at the Event Center of the Community Hope Church in Montezuma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be distributed to several organizations. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of the arrangements.

Roy Snook, the son of Lester and Eva (Tish) Snook, was born the youngest of 11 children on October 4, 1950 in Oskaloosa, Iowa.  He attended school at Deep River Millersburg and graduated in 1968.  He worked for Amana Refrigeration for a short time before joining Golden Sun Feed in Grinnell before being transferred to Maquoketa, Iowa.  On September 12, 1968 Roy was united in marriage to Janet Gregson in Victor, Iowa.  They became the parents of Teri, Andrea, and Troy.  Following their divorce, Roy was united in marriage to Kathy Kunde on July 3, 1978 in Maquoketa and gained a son, Jason. Later to this union Jessica completed this family. In 1978, Roy enlisted in the US Air Force serving in Rapid City, South Dakota and was honorably discharged in 1982. In 1988, they moved to Las Vegas and Roy worked in security management for eight years at the Lady Luck Casino in Las Vegas and then Marnell Masonry building numerous schools, prisons, and casinos for 15 years retiring in 2012.  Following his retirement at 62, they moved to Colorado and enjoyed the beautiful mountain views.   They then moved back to Tipton to be closer to family.  He enjoyed his retirement and worked at a grocery store part-time in Tipton.  Roy's family was the most important thing in his life. He enjoyed the time spent with his family and especially his grandchildren.  He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, golfing, playing cards and collecting guns.  Roy and Kathy loved to dance, and travel on his Harley and Trike through numerous states for several years.

His legacy will be cherished by his loving wife, Kathy; his children, Teri (Todd) Davis of Tipton, Andrea (David) Schnoor of Maquoketa, Troy Snook of Las Vegas, Jason (Kristy) Mangler of Las Vegas and Jessica (Donny) Bellows of Newport Beach, CA; his grandchildren, Levi Davis, Amanda (Jake) Workman, Zach Davis, Kaisee Schnoor, Conner Schnoor, Caleb (Erica) Snook, Denver Snook, Emmi Snook, Vaden (Clark)  Genneken, Adalyne Bellows and Dean Bellows; three great grandchildren, Jett Davis, Ember Davis and Clark  Genneken  Jr., two sisters-in-law, Pat Snook (Marvin Evans) and Reca Snook  and many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings and their spouses, Frances Schillenger, Lucille (Walt) Tish, Floyd (Joan) Snook, Willis (Phyllis) Snook, Edward (Betty) Snook, Keith Snook, Gladys (Keith) Arthur; Betty (Marion) Van Dee, Donald Snook and Eldon (Ellie) Snook.
