Sarah Rauch, 38 of Deep River passed away Sunday, May 31, 2026 at her home. A Celebration of Life will be held on her 39th birthday Saturday, September 19, 2026 at the Eagles Lodge in Grinnell from 12:00 pm to 3:30 pm with lunch being served. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sarah's name may be made to the Deep River Fire Department, the Montezuma Fire Department, Montezuma Ambulance or PALS of Grinnell. Sarah Lynn Rauch, the daughter of Robert Rauch and Sherri (Foraker) Rauch, was born on September 19, 1987 in Phoenix, Arizona. She was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis at two weeks old and fought it throughout her life. Sarah graduated from Montezuma High School with the class of 2006. She attended Marshalltown Community College taking dental assistant classes. She worked at Loucks Dental Office in Newton for six years before going into the healthcare field where she worked for Grinnell Regional Hospital. She worked for several years while taking night classes at Marshalltown Community College. She then went to Brookhaven Community in Brooklyn to work as a nurse's aide. Sarah loved to make people laugh and was always the life of the party. She enjoyed fishing, swimming, Chinese food, her dogs and gaming.

She will be remembered by her father, Robert Rauch of Deep River; her mother, Sherri (Papa Verno Sanders) Rauch of Grinnell; her brother, VJ Sanders of Grinnell; her sister, Rachelle (Loren) Hammerand of Florida; her maternal grandmother, Dodie Swails of Peoria, Arizona; aunts, Lori (Jim) Deemer, Terri "Huey" (Doug) Stahle and Chrissi (Don) Vachon; several special cousins, Steve (Brande) Rauch, Adam Kurk, Amy (Sion) Fontinel, Nathan Lowry, Beth (Todd) Smith, Kyler Stahle, Jace Vachon, Adam (Amanda) Stahle, Kristin (Ryan) Brick and Lesley Deemer; her bonus sister, April Ahrens; her nephew, Keegan Tompkins along with several other cousins and friends.

Sarah was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Cecil and Janet Rauch; a maternal grandfather, Dick Swails and her beloved dog of 19 years, Bentley.
