Scott "Scotty" Maschmann, 54, of Montezuma, passed on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at University of Iowa Hospital. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Monday, October 4, 2021 at the Community Hope Church in Montezuma. Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery  in Montezuma. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at Community Hope Church with the family present. The family is requesting that attendees please wear a face covering during the service and visitation hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Montezuma Blue and White Athletic Boosters. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Scotty was born on the 23rd day of June, 1967, the first of three children, to Kenneth "Musher" Maschmann and Carol (Hicks) Maschmann. He graduated from Montezuma High School in 1985 and was the father to four children, Trenton, Brooke, Kenneth "Ryan", and Brett.

After high school, Scotty worked at Montezuma Manufacturing for a short time before becoming a driver for Sutherland Printing in 1987, where he remained employed for 34 years until his passing.

A lover of all sports, Scotty particularly enjoyed watching any sport played by the Montezuma Braves or the Iowa Hawkeyes. He was also an avid Minnesota Vikings and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Scotty was known to enjoy a game of golf on Friday nights, but he looked most forward to the Iowa State Fair and deer hunting season.

Scotty is survived by his parents, Kenny and Carol Maschmann, a sister, Sharri (Dallas) Carothers, a brother, Partner Maschmann (Sonya Grandstaff), four kids, Trent, Brooke, Kenneth "Ryan" and Brett, a granddaughter, Mazzie, four nephews, Colton Maschmann, Ty Snook, Logan Carothers, and Brodie Grandstaff, two nieces, Katie Maschmann and Jenna Grandstaff, and his girlfriend, Melinda Dye, along with many extended relatives and dear friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Katie and Frank Maschmann, Leona Popejoy and Mitchell Hicks.
