Sharon Ferguson, 82 of Montezuma passed away Sunday morning, August 23, 2026, at Montezuma Specialty Care. Graveside Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 am on Friday, August 28, 2026, at the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Public Library and may be sent to Holland-Coble Funeral Home; In Care of Sharon Ferguson; P.O. Box 727; Montezuma, Iowa 50171. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Sharon Kay Ferguson, the daughter of Walter and Viola (Arvidson) McDowell, was born on December 19, 1943, in Montezuma, Iowa. She graduated from Montezuma High School with the class of 1962. Sharon was a waitress at the Maid-Rite in Montezuma and then Tom and Mary's Restaurant before going to work at Brownells in Montezuma in 1990 retiring in 2008. She enjoyed going dancing, watching her favorite TV show, Dallas, the Brownell retiree coffeetime, her pet, Parrot, and bowling.

Her memory will be cherished by her children, Rhonda Montgomery of New Sharon and Curtis (Robin) Ferguson of New Sharon; her grandchildren, Ashley (Josh) Van Donselaar of Grinnell; Cole Ferguson of New Sharon and Tyson Ferguson of New Sharon; two great grandchildren, Khloe Van Donselaar and Aria Van Donselaar along with many other relatives and friends.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Viola McDowell.
