Sharon Williams, 74, of Barnes City passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020, at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics at Iowa City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at 11:00 am at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, beginning at noon with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Burial will be held in the Barnes City Cemetery at Barnes City, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the Bethel Baptist Church, designated for missions. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Sharon Kay Williams was born at the Doctor's Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska on October 23, 1945, to Maybelle Jean McCulley Williams and Francis Merle Williams. Sharon attended Barnes City grade school in Barnes City, Iowa, and graduated from New Sharon High School in New Sharon, Iowa in 1963. She married Richard Allen Rutherford on May 24, 1964 at the Barnes City Christian Church in Barnes City, Iowa. To this union two children were born, Terressa Kay Rutherford (James McDaniel) of Helena, Montana and Michael Wayne Rutherford (Barbara Withrow) of Packwood, Iowa. Sharon and her husband Richard lived in Victor, Iowa, where she ran West Side Floral Shop and Flowers Express in Brooklyn, Iowa, before moving to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she worked at J.C. Penney and later at Hunters Specialities in Marion, Iowa. Sharon and Richard moved back to Barnes City, Iowa, in 2004 into the same home she grew up in.

Her family includes her devoted husband Richard of Barnes City, one daughter, Terressa (James) McDaniel of rural Helena, Montana, and one grandson, James Kerry Lee McDaniel, and one son Michael (Barbara) Rutherford and one granddaughter, Gabriele Elizabeth Rutherford (Logan Kates).

On Saturday, August 15, 2020, Sharon went to meet her Lord Jesus. Sharon was 74 years, 10 months and 23 days old.
