UPDATE:

**A tractor ride and Celebration of Life for Stacy will be held Saturday, May 31, 2025.   For those that would like to participate in the tractor ride please meet at the Terpstra's residence next to Lower Grove Church at 1518 168th St. New Sharon, Iowa 50207 at 8:30 am Saturday morning. The ride will take approximately 3.5 hours and will end up at Peoria Cemetery for a short graveside service around 12:00 pm. Following the graveside service, everyone is invited to Lower Grove Park for lunch.  For those who plan on attending lunch, please bring your own lawn chair.

Stacy Boyd, 54 of rural New Sharon passed away peacefully Tuesday evening December 17, 2024 at the Hospice of Pella Comfort House following a long battle with congestive heart failure.

Stacy Lee Boyd, the son of John and Vicki (McKim) Boyd, was born on October 17, 1970 in Oskaloosa, Iowa. He graduated from North Mahaska High School with the class of 1989. After high school, Stacy farmed with his father, John, in Lower Grove. He was also a heavy equipment operator and drove truck hauling livestock and hay. Stacy and his dad enjoyed tractor pulling together for several years. Prior to his health struggles, Stacy enjoyed coyote and deer hunting with Lower Grove neighbors and friends. He also thoroughly enjoyed going on tractor rides with his prized 560D, plowing, running dozer, and he had an interest in antique tractors. He was involved in tractor riding clubs and belonged to the Red Rock Threshers Club where with his happy-go-lucky attitude, he befriended many from all over south central Iowa who shared his passion for classic farming equipment.

He is survived by his mother, Vicki Boyd of New Sharon; Vicki's special cousin, Cheryl (David) Staley, his aunt, Nancy (Mike) Sinnett of Keomah Village near Oskaloosa and their family, Shannon, Jessi and Cody; his honorary family, Virgil and Bertha Terpstra and their son, Dan (Deb) Terpstra along with their children, Wyatt (Emma) Terpstra, Ivy (Bryce) Louters, Stella (Brodey Johnson) Terpstra and Rhett Terpstra and many other relatives and friends.

Stacy was preceded in death by his father, John Boyd; his paternal grandparents, Homer and Betty Boyd and maternal grandparents, Edwin and Wilma McKim.
