Susan Walton, 59 of Montezuma passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at her home. A Visitation/luncheon will be held at the New Sharon McVay Family Center from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. As requested by Susan, her body will be cremated and no funeral is planned. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in the family's name.

Susan Joy Walton, the daughter of Kenneth and Joyce (Adkins) Walston, was born on January 19, 1958 in Des Moines, Iowa. She graduated from North Mahaska High School in 1976. Following graduation, Susan attended AIB College of Business in Des Moines. She was married to Charles DeWitt in December of 1978. To this union one daughter was born, Kendra. They lived in New Sharon before moving to Texas. Following their divorce in 1983, Susan and Kendra moved back to Iowa. Susan lived and worked in Des Moines before moving to Port O' Conner, Texas. She was then married to Jason Walton in 1996. Susan worked in several restaurants and a few office jobs over the years. Jason and Susan were divorced and she moved back to Iowa to be closer to her family. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, cross stitching and spending time with her dog, Jethro.

Susan was survived by her daughter, Kendra (Charles) Charbonneau of New Sharon; her grandson, Taylor Charbonneau; her mother, Joyce Walston of New Sharon and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Walston.
