Terrell "Terry" Edwin Bryan, 80 of Montezuma, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2023, at his home in Montezuma.  A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 am Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Community Hope Church in Montezuma. A Visitation/Luncheon will be held after the service in the fellowship hall of the church. Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Montezuma Ambulance. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Terry was the first of 7 children born to Charles Edwin and Violet Kathleen (Newport) Bryan on October 6, 1942, at the family home near Montezuma.  He completed Sunnyside Six country school through the 8th grade then graduated from Montezuma High School with the class of 1960. In November 1960, Terry enlisted in the U.S. Army where he spent 15 months stationed on Ganghwa-do Island, South Korea.  After returning to Fort Hood, he was honorably discharged in August 1963. On January 17 ^th , 1964, Terry was united in marriage to Linda Gwin at the Guernsey United Methodist Church.  To this union, four children were born.  David, Diahann, Raenelle and Nicole, all of Montezuma.  Terry and Linda had their first date on November 15 ^th , were engaged on December 16 ^th and married on January 17 ^th .  A marriage that lasted 55 years.

In his early years after returning to Montezuma, Terry worked for Fullerton Lumber, Audas Supply, Sigs and delivered dairy for Borden's.  They then moved to Des Moines where he worked for Hicklin GM.  Prior to the kids starting school, they moved back to Montezuma where he began working for his uncle Frank and learning the electrical trade.  He operated Terry's Wiring Service for several years while also helping his father develop Fun Valley Ski Area.  After Fun Valley was in operation for a few years, Terry started working on and selling snowmobiles.  In 1972 he became a Polaris dealer operating Fun Valley RV for over 40 years with his son David by his side for the last 20. He retired in 2011. Not one to stay idle, he worked part-time for his son-in-law mowing and plowing snow for Losure and Sons. Spending time with family, coffeetime at the Depot, motorcycling, snowmobiling and golfing were some of his favorite pass times. He enjoyed a variety of music from classical to country. He loved telling stories and talking with his customers. He never knew a stranger – only friends he hadn't met. He and Linda took several trips on their Goldwing visiting many states.  He always looked forward to organizing his annual snowmobiling trip to the Black Hills, accompanied by countless friends and family member. He developed lasting friendships with the locals at Trailshead and was known for being lucky enough to pay for his trip with his blackjack winnings.

Terry is survived by his children David (Pamela) Bryan, Diahann (Kevin) Losure, Raenelle Bryan and Nicole (Jared) Latcham.  His grandchildren Athena (Corey) Simpson, Seth (Kelsey) Bryan, Brady (Katie Pollock) Losure, Elijah Bryan, Carson (Anna Mallory) Losure, Kale (Sammy Bertagnolli) Latcham, Chloe Latcham and Kaya Latcham.  His great-grandchildren Breck and Lennox Simpson, Quinn and Noah Bryan, Kaselyn and Tanner Pollock and Thea Losure, 6 siblings Ron (Joyce) Bryan of Grinnell, Rick (Connie) Bryan of Oskaloosa, Carol (Jim) Means of Spring Hill, KS, Joy (Dean) Hubbard of Montezuma, Denny (Marcy) Bryan of Oskaloosa and Kelly (Lori) Bryan of Montezuma, his sisters-in-law Marlene Gwin of Sigourney, Marilyn Baustian of Grinnell, Jan Bushong of Montezuma and Nita (Chris) Stanford of Williamsburg, many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Terry was preceded in death by his wife Linda Bryan, his parents Edwin & Kay Bryan, parents-in-law Arnold and Marie Gwin and his brothers and sisters-in-law Wayne Gwin, Magee Baustian, Wendall and Ruth Gwin, Larry and Gaye Gwin, Evan and Shirley Gwin and Bill Bushong.
