Therese Anderson, 72 of Montezuma passed away Friday afternoon, December 23, 2022 at the UnityPoint Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Thursday, December 29, 2022 at the Community Hope Church in Montezuma. Burial will be held in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. Visitation will begin after 12:00 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Community Hope Church with the family present from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Montezuma Fire and Ambulance Services or the Blakely-Stevens American Legion Post #169 Building Fund. Holland-Coble Funeral Home of Montezuma is in charge of arrangements.

Therese Irene Anderson, the daughter of Keith and Evelyn (DeMeulenaere) Edelen, was born on August 16, 1950 in Grinnell, Iowa. She was a 1968 graduate of Grinnell High School. On November 22, 1969, Therese was united in marriage to Danny Anderson at St Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn. To this union two children were born Curt and Christy. Therese worked at the Poweshiek County National Bank and Montezuma State Bank before going to work at the Poweshiek County Courthouse in the Auto Department retiring after 36 years. Therese loved to watch her grandchildren in all of their activities and sporting events throughout the years. She also enjoyed spending time with all of her nieces and nephews and great-grand Fur-Babies. Therese also played an active role in planning the activities for the Montezuma Fire and Ambulance Department for many years. She always looked forward to her Wednesday morning coffeetime. She was an active member of the American Legion Post #169 Ladies Auxiliary and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Brooklyn.

Her legacy will be honored by her husband, Danny Anderson of Montezuma; her children, Curt Anderson of Montezuma and Christy (Jeff) Sanger of Montezuma; her grandchildren, Reece (Callie) McCaslen, Maddux Anderson, Saphire Gatton and Riley Gatton; her siblings, Joe (Becky) Edelen of Brooklyn, Diane (Nathan) Arens, Don (Susie) Edelen of Grinnell and Gene (Maria) Edelen of Geneseo, IL; brother-in-law, Bill Anderson of Urbandale along with many nieces and nephews and friends.

Therese was preceded in death by her parents, Keith and Evelyn Edelen and in-laws, Lyle and Ladona Anderson.
