Victoria Lynn "Vicki" Boyd, 80, of New Sharon, Iowa, passed away May 7, 2026, at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa. As was her wish, her body has been cremated and burial will be held in the Peoria Cemetery in Peoria, Iowa.

Vicki was born April 2, 1946, in Oskaloosa to Edwin and Wilma (LaForce) McKim and graduated from Oskaloosa High School. As a child, she and her sister Nancy spent countless hours at the Riverside Supply Store near the old Eveland Access Bridge, owned and operated by their parents. What began as childhood play later became helping customers and stocking shelves alongside their family.

On May 15, 1965, Vicki married John Daniel Boyd at Lower Grove Church near New Sharon. To this union, one son, Stacy Lee, was born. Together, Vicki, John, and later Stacy enjoyed attending country music concerts and making memories together through the years. Alongside farm life, Vicki helped raise bottle calves, faithfully caring for the calf nursery and tending to the animals each day. Off the farm, Vicki worked at Econofoods Bakery, Interpower Corporation, Walmart, and at Pella Regional Health Center. She was also well known among the tractor pulling and tractor ride community for feeding the crowds. The annual tractor rider's supper she organized was a great joy for her.

Vicki was a dedicated soul and generous caretaker for so many. No one ever left her home hungry. She found tremendous joy in cooking, baking, and sharing meals with family, friends, and neighbors. When Nancy needed help with her catering business, she would call Vicki, and she would gladly come and spend the day cooking and baking alongside her sister, something they both greatly enjoyed. Her kindness quietly extended far beyond her own household. After the passing of her Uncle Bill in 2017, Vicki lovingly prepared and labeled homemade meals for her blind Aunt Dolores for nearly two years, ensuring she continued to enjoy home-cooked food until she moved to a nursing home.

She was also an exceptional listener who showed genuine interest in the lives of others. Even while facing her own health struggles, Vicki continued asking about family, livestock, rain for the ponds, the crops and the well-being of everyone around her. Her caring heart and generous spirit touched many lives; she will be missed.

Vicki is survived by her sister, Nancy Sinnett; nieces Shannon (Ed) Wheeldon and Jessica Gilmore; nephew Cody Sinnett; cherished cousin Cheryl (David) Staley; and her bonus family, Virg and Bert Terpstra, Dan (Deb) Terpstra, Wyatt (Emma) Terpstra, Ivy (Bryce) Louters, Stella (Brodey) Johnson, and Rhett Terpstra, along with many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Boyd; her son, Stacy Boyd; her father, Edwin McKim; her mother, Wilma McKim; her father-in-law Homer Boyd; her mother-in-law, Betty Boyd and her brother-in-law, Mike Sinnett.
