Virginia Thomas, 97, of What Cheer, Iowa passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Sigourney Care Center at Sigourney, Iowa.  Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2021 beginning at 11:00 am at the Garrett Cemetery at Delta.  No visitation will be held.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the family and mailed to the Holland-Coble Funeral Home, 101 South Main Street, PO Box 325, What Cheer, Iowa 50268.

Virginia Mae Thomas was born on August 31, 1924 at her What Cheer home to Joseph and Audrey Mae Fear Thomas.  Virginia grew up on the farm and rode her horse daily to school.  She graduated from What Cheer High School and worked part-time at a local restaurant.  After graduation, she lived with her parents and became their caregiver.  Virginia loved animals and dogs especially.

She thoroughly loved farm life and helping with the many chores.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joseph Gene Thomas; her nieces, Stacy Kiner and Tracy Kiner; her nephew, DJ McKinney.

She is survived by her sisters, Catherine Kiner and Patsy Albert; nephews, Ryan (Nancy) Bunting and Bryan (Esther) Bunting; nieces, Tami (Rick) Saloom, Jodi (Jason) Frederick, Renee (Steve) Gatton and Keely (Douglas) Fowler; her sister-in-law, Patricia Thomas; as well as several great nephews, great nieces and other family.
