Wayland Hardeman, 53, of Weatherford, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior, Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the Medical City of Arlington Hospital in Arlington, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 10:30 am Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma. Burial will be held in the West Liberty Cemetery near Montezuma. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Liberty Church of Christ.

Wayland Earl Hardeman, the son of Wendell and Marilyn (Johnson) Hardeman, was born on February 6, 1964 in Grinnell, Iowa. He attended school in Montezuma, IA, Paragould, AR, and Cedar Rapids, IA before graduating from West Jefferson High School near New Orleans, LA in 1982. Wayland attended Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, TN. On October 30, 1996, Wayland was united in marriage to Jennifer Balke. Together they raised two children, Brandon and Christina. Wayland enlisted with the United States Air Force in 1985. During his 20 year career, Wayland was stationed in Germany and Korea and was also very active in the Desert Storm Conflict retiring from McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita, KS. Following his honorable discharge, Wayland moved to Fayetteville, AR for one year before moving to Derby, KS. While living in Derby, Wayland worked for Miller Electric as a warehouse foreman. The company relocated Wayland to Fort Worth, TX where he was currently employed. Wayland enjoyed watching sports, reading the Guinness Book of World Records and being able to recite the records back to his friends and family, working and spending time with his family. He was very proud of his home and his yard. Faith and family were very important to Wayland. He was an avid reader and spent many hours reading the Bible. Wayland was raised in the West Liberty Church of Christ near Montezuma, IA and was baptized in the Seventh and Mueller Church of Christ in Paragould, AR. He is currently a member of the Windmill Church of Christ near Weatherford, TX.

He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Hardeman of Weatherford, TX; two children, Brandon Balke and Christina Hardeman both of Weatherford, TX; his parents, Wendell and Marilyn Hardeman of Fayetteville, AR and Montezuma, IA; a brother, Wade (Stella) Hardeman of Choctaw, OK; a sister, Marcia Jones of Bethany, OK and many other relatives and friends.

Wayland was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harley and Ethel Johnson and his paternal grandparents, Pete and Lena Hardeman.
